The Basic Service

Implement GIS-based Asset Management

This is our most fundamental, popular service. Whether you use a GIS everyday or if you don't know what GIS even stands for, we can help improve your asset management practices. What makes our solutions effective is that we customize each system to the specific needs of each client. That being said, most of our clients have historically required a GIS that does not detract from their daily workflow.

Our goal is to make an asset management system that makes our clients say, "Why and how did we ever do our job without this system?"

Advanced Analysis Projects

The instant a municipality has completed the roll-out of  a basic GIS-based asset management system, the return on investment starts. And once a municipal leader understands how useful a basic GIS system is, they often become interested in advanced analysis shortly thereafter.

Snow Removal Route Analysis

Many of our clients are responsible for snow removal in the winter. If you are one of those clients, we understand how complicated efficient snow removal can be. So, naturally, Davidson and Associates Consulting offers snow removal analysis for any client looking to optimize their routes.

Since every municipality is different, these projects are also very different for each client. Sometimes, simply mapping the existing plow routes helps a client re-route their snow removal process. Sometimes, the project is a lot more complicated. Either way, the result is reduced travel time and reduced mileage

Watershed Analysis

Is roadway flooding a frequent issue for your municipality? For our past and current clients, it is definitely a problem. One specific application of a watershed analysis is to determine appropriate diameters of a culvert inventory. By assigning the appropriate diameters to a culvert inventory, the culvert size can be corrected when it is replaced. Gradually, as the culvert pipes are replaced with new sizes, flooding across the town will decrease.

Repair Cost and Value Analysis

Are you estimating your repair and maintenance work? How about when you overlay a particular road? If you are not, would you like a quick and easy way to estimate an upcoming pavement overlay project? Davidson and Associates Consulting can tie-in cost and value data to your inventories. Our clients then use this data to estimate any upcoming projects or repair tasks that involve work on more than one feature.

Every time the Town of Sherburne overlays a road, for example, they prep the road with ditching and replacing all the faulty culvert pipes prior to the overlay. Each culvert in the inventory hascondition and cost data that can be sorted quickly and the total project cost can be estimated within a matter of minutes.
